Who Can Make a Complaint

Anyone whose telecommunication company is a member of the Telecommunication Dispute Resolution (TDR) scheme can bring a dispute to Telecommunication Dispute Resolution (TDR), but there are a few limits on what is covered:

  • The person making the complaint must be the account holder, or authorised to make a complaint on that person's behalf.
  • A complaint must be about an event that happened on or after 30 November 2007, when TDR started operating.
  • All complaints must have been made with the telecommunication company first, before they come to TDR.
  • TDR cannot deal with a telecommunication company's Government or Business/Corporate clients.
  • This service only applies to customers of companies that are members of the TDR Scheme.
  • TDR can deal with complaints asking for compensation, but only up to $12,000.

People who use pre-pay cellphones can also use TDR.
